Leaning back into a peaceful siesta while waiting for my train to Los Angeles, I realized that I could not rest until my point of view was illustrated. Railroad excursions are often enhanced by the attractive architecture one finds at each stop. In the golden age of rail travel, people took great pride in the details. Today, only one company remains devoted to that concept in the states: the American Orient Express. They are somewhat costly though.
Alas, quite a few people arrive at this painting looking for more practical info, e.g. Amtrak's Orlando Station page, or the address:
1400 Sligh Blvd.
Orlando, FL 32806
(407) 843-7611
Orlando transportation options include more than just trains. In addition to taxi cabs, one can hail towncars and limousines, and most hotels have an airport shuttle. There is also an excellent bus network with a stop at the Amtrak station. In Orlando, transportation is nothing to worry about.
Series Description: Scenes from my vacations aboard the Sunset Limited, Coast Starlight, California Zephyr, Empire Builder, Cardinal, etc. Destinations included the Bahamas, the Olympic Peninsula, and Cape Hatteras. LA Union Station was often my starting point.
