Tricking insects into pollination service without rewarding them would seem to be unethical. Then again, the Lady's Slipper orchids are an admirable argument in favor of deceipt. Perhaps human society does itself a disservice by outlawing deception? If the orchids' beautiful manifestations of the strategy have carpeted the world's forests, how much more could civilization make of it? After all, there is no violence in mere perfidy.
