My very own living room can, under the right circumstances, be considered an art installation. In the few years that have passed since I designed this layout, its ecological footprint has weighed heavily on my conscience. Sliced laboriously in China, these pink & black marble tiles were shipped across the entire Pacific ocean, then freighted across America. After a circuitous re-routing through Home Depot's logists network, the tiles finally reached me. It's embarrassing to think I could simply have refinished the old pine floor beneath, instead.
