Carlos Linnaeus' Beloved Nepenthes: Tropical Pitcher Plant

At the Duke greenhouse, from Borneo cuttings. The Nepenthes Nursery presents a great deal of information about this extravagant carnivore. Linnaeus is said to have been thrilled when he first caught sight of this plant.

The Hispanic version of "Carolus" is odd but valid, I think.

Series Description: Scenes from the Harvard of the South, in Durham, North Carolina. Formerly Trinity College, it rose to prominence after a tobacco magnate opened his checkbook in the 1930s. See also dmoz.org/...Colleges and Universities/...Duke University/, and the Geisha series, painted at Lilly Library.
