Waiting for a Movie Test Screening, Santa Monica

I saw several movies at the 3rd St. Promenade before they were released to the public. The movie studios are always recruiting passersby there to test-screen their new offerings. "Life" and "Boiler Room" were memorable. I wonder if they heeded my suggestions... This movie brings to mind the tragedy of waste. Two prisoners pass their whole lives in the jail system, for nothing, but that's not what's tragic. They're capable, intelligent men who are never given the chance to work on tasks equal to their abilities. Perhaps there is an insight for prisons: make use of intelligence tests and utilize rare cognitive talents whenever they are found. Rather than send thinkers out to collect roadside rubbish, prisons should put them to work in white-collar capacities -- under careful supervision of course. -A la "Shawshank Redemption."
