What sort of toys might be best for a toddler to play with? -Interesting question. On the one hand, toddler toys must be safe. Choking hazards and poison potential must be assessed and minimized. So few toys are foolproof, it almost leaves intangible entertainment as the only option. Mozart is pretty good at rousing a smile or two… On the other hand, intellectual stimulation is important. Monotonous television lacking interaction certainly wouldn’t qualify. The toy should involve the child, spark creativity and prompt thinking along new avenues. Of course, it must meet the toddler’s stringent standards of fun. I envy not the toy maker in charge of designing for the toddler. It’s a tall order.
