The tobacco industry seems to have hit upon a great idea: convincing males that smoking makes you more of a man. Arguably, the use of silly props bespeaks the opposite. More importantly, the industry’s ploys should serve as a warning; if they must resort to psychological coercion, there must be a lot of logical reasons not to smoke. Quit Smoking – that’s the simple message. Countless smokers go to an early grave, often bringing non-smoker loved ones with them -- second-hand smoke is just as deleterious. Ways to quit smoking are numerous: patches, gums, hypnosis, programs, and even cold turkeys. Chances are, at least one “stop smoking product” will do the trick.
