Along I-27, a troubling pattern of roadkill emerged. In addition to the native armadillos, there was a gruesome string of domestic pets. A big dog or cat every 20 miles or so. Perhaps an animal shelter was making a statement... so many abondoned pets must be put to sleep. Here, take a look at them. Some roadside businesses included Hibernia Bank, and Harrah's. It's interesting to note that the word "Hibernia" is a Latin and poetic name for the island of Ireland.
