Most unexpectedly, Charles took us on a tour of this Northern Florida city. We were waiting for our Amtrak connection in the middle of the night with 3 hours to go. In he waltzed, on a break from his bus route. Spontaneously, he asked all the waiting passengers if they'd care to see a bit more of his city than just the train station. We all appreciated the diversion. His story was uplifting. From the depths of homeless drug addiction, he rose to respectability. We chatted at length on the virtues of being reborn. ...Jacksonville: the city of random good deeds.
