Sometimes, Alexander slept in my workshop. It wasn't a real Tiffany lamp. -Just a $50 Chinese replica, that did the job nicely. Those beige paper/fiber lampshades you see all the time are unacceptable. If you need a lamp, there’s no reason not to buy a tiffany lamp – especially when companies like Quoizel make them available at such reasonable prices.
The quality of illumination from tiffany-style lamps is vastly superior. At once, it’s both warm and vibrant like candles, yet widely dispersed and sufficient, like traditional electric lighting.
I wonder how Quoizel does it. Even with the Chinese labor, there must be so much effort behind the manufacture. Cutting up all the colored glass pieces. Standardizing which pieces go where. Assembling the glass-lead matrix. Casting the base. Wiring & finishing. It’s so much that it would cost you a fortune to build one yourself, and yet you can waltz into Marshalls or TJ Maxx and have one for under $50. -Astonishing, and thoroughly worth noting.
